Watching recordings

Open Library → Videos to browse recordings. Everyone signed in to the server can use the library.

Use the tabs above the list to choose what to show:

Tab Recordings shown
All All recordings in the library.
This week Recordings from the last seven days.
Unwatched Recordings you haven’t started watching.
Watch later Recordings you’ve saved for later.

Use Sort to order recordings by recording date, stream date, channel, duration, or size. View switches between posters and a table.

Open Filters to narrow the list:

Filter Choices
Status Done, Running, Pending, Failed.
Quality Recording resolution.
Language Broadcast language.
Duration Under 30m, 30m–2h, 2h–4h, or 4h+.
Type Live recordings or Archives.

The search in the header searches videos, channels, and categories across the library. You can limit the results to any one of those groups.

Open a recording you’ve started and select Resume at to continue from your saved position, or Start over to play from the beginning. The resume prompt appears once you’ve watched a few seconds and disappears when you’re near the end.

The Continue watching row on the Dashboard lists recordings you’ve started but haven’t finished, with the most recently watched first.

Watch progress is saved to your account. Other people’s viewing doesn’t affect your progress or the Unwatched tab.

Select Add to watch later on a recording to save it to your Watch later tab. Select Remove from watch later to remove it from the list. This list is private to your account.

Badge Meaning
Archive Downloaded from a past broadcast on Twitch.
PARTIAL Some of the recording is missing. The captured footage is still playable.
TRUNCATED Recording stopped before the broadcast ended.
CANCELLED Someone cancelled the recording.

If a recording has several parts, the player switches between them automatically. The playback cache lets you seek across compatible parts as one video. The server owner can enable it.

The Stream timeline shows title and category changes captured during the broadcast. Select a marker on the seek bar to jump to that change. Use the layout control to place the timeline beside or below the player. See Title tracking for how this history is recorded.

Open Library → Channels to browse broadcasters. The tabs show All, Live now, Downloaded, or Favorites. A Live badge means the channel is currently streaming.

Select a channel’s star to add it to Favorites. Your favourites are saved to your account. To record a channel automatically, create or request a schedule.

Open a channel to see its recordings. Admins and owners can also select Download to record a stream that’s live now.

Open Library → Categories to browse recordings by Twitch category. Each category shows its artwork and recording count. Sort by the most recent recording or the number of recordings, then open a category to see its videos.
