Downloads & history
Open Recordings → Downloads to check active recordings, or Recordings → History to review completed, failed, and removed recordings. Everyone can view these pages. Admins and owners can cancel, restore, and remove recordings.
What’s recording now
Section titled “What’s recording now”Downloads shows each active recording’s progress and elapsed time, with an estimate of the time remaining when available. The counter above the list shows how many recording slots are in use. The Dashboard also shows a preview of active downloads.
Live recordings need a free slot to start. If the server reaches max_concurrent, it can’t start another live recording. See Recording to change this limit.
Archives have a separate queue on the Archive page. They appear in Downloads once they start downloading.
To stop a running recording, select Cancel. ReplayVOD keeps the footage already captured and marks the recording CANCELLED.
What happened
Section titled “What happened”In History, use Status to show all recordings, only Failed recordings, or only Cancelled recordings. For failed recordings, check the Error column for the reason.
The Media column shows whether the recording’s files are available:
| Media | Meaning |
|---|---|
| On disk | The files are available in storage. |
| Deleted by you | A user removed the recording through the dashboard. |
| Auto-cleanup | ReplayVOD deleted the recording after its schedule’s auto-delete period. |
| Missing | Files were removed from storage outside ReplayVOD. |
Use the Unavailable filter to find recordings marked Missing.
Bring back a recording whose files went missing
Section titled “Bring back a recording whose files went missing”ReplayVOD marks a recording Missing if its files are deleted or moved outside the app. It keeps the recording’s details and previews so you can restore it if you recover the files.
- Put every part of the recording back in its original location.
- Open History and select the Unavailable filter.
- Select Restore on the recording.
Restore checks that every part is present. If files are still missing, it reports how many. The storage scan also restores recordings automatically; it runs daily by default.
If you no longer have the files, select Remove to delete the remaining previews and part details. You can’t restore the recording after this. Its entry stays in History.
If files are missing but the recording hasn’t been marked, check whether storage is attached. The scan pauses when ReplayVOD can’t access or identify its storage.
