These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ReplayVOD Connect, a hosted webhook relay for the open-source ReplayVOD project, operated by ReplayVOD ("we", "us", "ReplayVOD"). By creating a Connect account or paying a Connect subscription, you agree to these Terms.
The self-hosted ReplayVOD software is licensed separately under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (the webhook relay component, which Connect uses, is MIT-licensed). The open-source code is not subject to these Terms — these Terms cover only the paid Connect cloud service.
1. What Connect provides
Connect is a webhook relay service. It receives signed webhook deliveries on a public URL we provide and forwards them to your self-hosted ReplayVOD instance over a long-lived WebSocket connection. The relay does not parse, log, or persist webhook payload contents beyond a short reconnect buffer (currently five minutes). It does not store your video recordings, user accounts, or Twitch credentials. Your videos and database remain on the hardware you operate.
2. Your obligations
You agree that:
- You will register and maintain your own Twitch developer application and comply with the Twitch Developer Services Agreement and Twitch Terms of Service. You are the Twitch developer; we are not.
- You will only use Connect to relay webhooks for channels you own or for which you have explicit permission from the broadcaster.
- You will not use Connect to relay traffic that violates applicable law, infringes third-party rights, or attempts to circumvent the technical or contractual protections of any platform.
- You will keep your relay token confidential. Anyone who possesses your token can post events to your relay endpoint.
3. Subscription, billing, and refunds
Connect is sold as a recurring subscription billed through Polar (the merchant of record). By subscribing you authorize Polar to charge your payment method on the subscription's renewal cadence until you cancel.
You may cancel at any time from the customer billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the end of the current billing period.
Refunds. Within fourteen (14) days of your initial subscription, you may request a full refund by emailing support@replayvod.com. After fourteen days, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable; annual subscriptions are refundable on a pro-rated basis for unused full months. Polar processing fees (typically a few percent) are not refundable.
4. Service availability and platform risk
Connect depends on third-party platforms — including Cloudflare for infrastructure, Polar for billing, and the Twitch platform for the events we relay. We do not control these platforms. Twitch may at any time, in its sole discretion and without notice, change its developer policies in a way that affects Connect, or terminate the developer accounts of users of this service.
If Twitch (or any other upstream platform) takes action that requires us to suspend or shut down Connect, we will notify subscribers by email and refund the unused pro-rated portion of any prepaid period. Continued operation of Connect is not guaranteed.
5. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your Connect account, with or without notice, if:
- You materially breach these Terms or our usage policies.
- Your payment method fails and is not corrected within seven (7) days.
- Your usage poses a security, abuse, or rate-limit risk to our infrastructure or to upstream platforms.
- We are required to do so by law, regulation, or upstream platform.
On termination, we will revoke your relay tokens and delete your account data within thirty (30) days, subject to legal retention obligations.
6. No warranty
Connect is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or compliance with any specific third-party platform policy. You assume all risk associated with your use of Connect, including risk associated with your separate compliance with the Twitch Developer Services Agreement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to your use of Connect is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of business, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
8. Trademark and affiliation
"Twitch" and the Twitch logo are trademarks of Twitch Interactive, Inc. ReplayVOD and Connect are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch Interactive, Inc. References to Twitch in our documentation are descriptive (nominative use) and do not imply any endorsement.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes that affect existing subscriptions will be announced by email at least fourteen (14) days before they take effect. Your continued use of Connect after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's registered jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Connect will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
